This series has five books. This series is the second, following ‘Percy Jackson And The Olympians‘ and followed by the ‘Trials of Apollo‘, and the ‘Nico Di Angelo Adventures‘. Other books by this author include the ‘Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard‘ series (Norse mythology), ‘The Kane Chronicles‘ (Egyptian mythology), and many companion novels.

A brief summary of Book 1… (‘The Lost Hero‘)
Jason has a problem.
He woke up on a school bus holding hands with a girl named Piper. Apparently she’s his girlfriend and his best friend is a kid named Leo, and they’re all students in the Wilderness School, a boarding school for “bad kids.” The problem is that Jason doesn’t remember anything before waking up. Jason has no idea how he got here—except that everything seems very wrong.
Piper has a secret.
Her vivid nightmares reveal that her father, who has been missing for three days, is in terrible danger. Now her boyfriend doesn’t recognize her, and a freak storm and strange creatures attack during a school field trip. Then she, Jason, and Leo are whisked away to a place called “Camp Half-Blood”. What is going on?
Leo has a way with tools.
His new cabin at Camp Half-Blood is filled with them. For Leo, Camp Half-Blood is better than Wilderness School, with its weapons training and monsters. What’s troubling is the curse everyone keeps talking about, and that a camper’s gone missing. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist they are all—including Leo—related to a god.

To describe these books and why they were amazing reads, would be to spoil their events for a potential reader. So, I will leave the descriptions simple and spoiler free.

When I read the ‘Heroes of Olympus‘ series recently, I already knew I would love these books. I knew because I have reread them multiple times and have loved all of the other books I have read from this author. Like ‘Percy Jackson And The Olympians‘, this series explain Greek Mythology but also includes Roman Mythology in a way that is easy to understand and remember. These books feature many characters from the first series while also introducing many more. These books can be enjoyed my all ages and I would definitely recommend these books to anyone who love myths, legends, and Rick Riordan.
