This book is a collection of myths about some of the Greek heroes. This book is narrated by Percy Jackson after the ‘Percy Jackson And The Olympians‘ and the ‘Heroes of Olympus‘ series. Other books by this author include the ‘Trials of Apollo‘ series, the ‘Nico Di Angelo Adventures‘, the ‘Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard‘ series (Norse mythology), ‘The Kane Chronicles‘ (Egyptian mythology), and many companion novels, including ‘Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods‘.
A brief summary…
Who cut off Medusa’s head? Who was raised by a she-bear? Who tamed Pegasus?
It takes a demigod to know, and Percy Jackson can fill you in on the all the daring deeds of Perseus, Atalanta, Bellerophon, and the rest of the major Greek heroes. ‘
I’ve had some bad experiences in my time, but the heroes I’m going to tell you about were the original old school hard luck cases. They boldly screwed up where no one had screwed up before. . .‘
‘This story collection will become the new must-have classic for Rick Riordan’s legions of devoted fans–and for anyone who needs a hero. So get your flaming spear. Put on your lion skin cape. Polish your shield and make sure you’ve got arrows in your quiver. We’re going back about four thousand years to decapitate monsters, save some kingdoms, shoot a few gods in the butt, raid the Underworld, and steal loot from evil people. Then, for dessert, we’ll die painful tragic deaths. Ready? Sweet. Let’s do this.’
To describe this book and why it was an amazing read, would be to spoil it for a potential reader. So, I will leave the descriptions simple and spoiler free.

I loved this book because it tells you more about several the Greek heroes who appear or are mentioned in the main books, as well as others I had not previously heard of. While providing lots of information, Percy’s narration makes it fun to read, ‘Percy Jackson’s Greek Heroes’ isn’t necessary to understand the other books but I would definitely recommend reading it if you love myths, legends, and Percy Jackson.
“No one should know his entire fate. It’s too dangerous and too depressing. Just keep going, do your best, and hope it’s good enough. That’s all any of us can do.”
