This book is inspired by the childhood of Hollywood legend Audrey Hepburn.

A brief summary…
The brutal Second World War stretches on with no end in sight. For ordinary Dutch people in the Nazi-occupied Netherlands, life is dangerous – fraught with peril, hardship, the constant threat of arrest and enslavement as the food supply dwindles.

Edda is determined to do anything she can to help the resistance fight back against their oppressors, after the murder of her uncle and the capture of her brother by the Germans. But what can a teenage girl do and how much risk is she willing to take?

To describe this book and why it was an amazing read, would be to spoil its events for a potential reader. So, I will leave the description simple and spoiler free.
