This series contains three books; ‘Caraval’ , ‘Legendary‘, and ‘Finale’.
A brief summary of book 1…
Scarlett Dragna has never left the tiny island where she and her sister, Tella, live with their cruel father. Now stuck with a marriage arranged by her father, Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval – the faraway once-a-year performance where the audience take part in the show – are over. But, when an invitation arrives, a mysterious sailor helps Tella whisk Scarlett away to the show. Once they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind, Legend. Whoever finds her first wins. Whether Caraval is real or not, Scarlett must find Tella before the five nights are over or a dangerous domino effect of consequences are set off and Tella is lost forever.
Book 2 follows the events of Tella in the next Caraval, and book 3 follows both Scarlett and Tella two months after the end of ‘Legendary’ and many secrets have been revealed.
To describe these books and why they were amazing reads, would be to spoil their events for a potential reader. So, I will leave the descriptions simple and spoiler free.

I really enjoyed reading this series, I’ve tried to pick a favourite of the three, but each shows more of Caraval and its magic, making the choice impossible. I loved the magic shown in this book as well as the mystery of Caraval as its secrets unfolded. The descriptions of the characters, their pasts, and their secrets, was incredible. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves magic, secrets, and adventure.
“Every story has four parts: the beginning, the middle, the almost-ending, and the true ending. Unfortunately, not everyone gets a true ending. Most people give up at the part of the story where things are the worst, when the situation feels hopeless, but that is where hope is needed most. Only those who persevere can find their true ending.”
